Elín Traustadóttir

Elin Traustadottir is a Brussels and UK – based business woman with an extensive experience in sustainable value creation within the blue economy sector.

As a founder and company director in the UK, she has focused on the responsible procurement of fish skins for the production of premium marine collagen, championing both quality and environmental stewardship.

In Brussels, she’s exhibited her product innovations at the prestigious BlueInvest Day hosted by the European Union, among 97 other pioneering start-ups and businesses driving new standards for quality and environmental responsibility in the sector.

Her commercial expertise spans the full product lifecycle, from designing bespoke collagen formulas to overseeing product development with a strong commitment to circular economy principles. With a background as a design professional in Lisbon, Reykjavik, and the UK, Elin brings a refined aesthetic sensibility to the creation and branding of market-ready products.

Elin’s achievements have been recognised through several esteemed European grants, including the Innovation Support Grant from the European Regional Fund, the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs, and the Leonardo Da Vinci Grant.

Alongside her business activities, Elin has been an active consultant, advising private businesses and served as an advisor to MSc marketing students at Nottingham Business School.
