Téthys Naval operates under a single legal entity, overseeing three complementary branches:

Consultancy Services: High-level security advisory and legal counsel, led by Founder and Director Philippe Hermes—a recognised expert in maritime law, human rights at sea and member of several international bodies including the International Maritime Organisation’s Legal Committee.

Téthys Beacon: An AI-powered destination intelligence platform that leverages the Destination Trend Dossier methodology to forecast safety and predictability trends—spanning social dynamics, weather, tides, and time-of-day patterns—while providing real-time incident alerts to help cruise operators plan proactively and stay informed.

Téthys Bootcamp: A remote learning portal for maritime governance, focused on training and raising awareness to manage disruptive events and develop foresight, helping reduce risk exposure during travel.

Founded in Brussels in 2023 by German maritime lawyer Philippe Hermes, Téthys Naval srl is a boutique consultancy specialising in private maritime security, governance and human rights compliance. With its registered office at Boulevard St Michel 47, the company combines deep legal expertise with a forward-looking IT-enabled service model, positioning itself at the cutting edge of the blue economy.
Philippe Hermes
Philippe is a seasoned Blue Security expert specialising in maritime security, ocean governance, international law and human rights. He is the founder and director general of Téthys Naval and creator of Beacon and Bootcamp.
Elín Traustadóttir
Elín is an experienced Blue Economy business woman blending sales performance with sustainable innovation. She is the commercial director of Téthys Naval and leads the the charge in transforming Tethys 2.0 into high-value, market-ready solutions.
