Dr. Emil Guliyev

Dr Emil Guliyev serves as Data Science Director at Téthys Naval, where he applies his expertise in advanced analytics, machine learning, and computer vision to support the development of next-generation maritime technologies. With a PhD in Data Science and Marketing Analytics from the University of Lille, his research has focused on predictive modelling, churn analysis, and the deployment of scalable AI systems that bridge the gap between research and real-world application.

Emil’s professional background spans both academia and industry. He has held research and teaching positions at IÉSEG School of Management, where he taught graduate-level courses in data science and AI, and worked extensively on business intelligence and forecasting. His industry roles include Data Scientist at Enfocus in Belgium, where he developed models for customer behaviour, forecasting, and big data analytics, as well as consultancy through his own practice, Caspian Analytics, delivering AI and cloud-based solutions for international clients.

At Téthys Naval, Emil brings a strong interdisciplinary skill set, combining technical knowledge with strategic insight. Fluent in several languages and experienced in global collaboration, he is committed to harnessing data-driven innovation to enhance operational effectiveness and decision-making in naval and maritime contexts.
